Computational Models of Absorption Heat Pumps
Version 1 · 15 October 2026 · A living document, extended component by component as the reading proceeds
Simulation is the working instrument of absorption heat pump research: the more exactly a model computes, the more its conclusions can bear. Yet published models differ in where they draw the balance boundary, which enthalpy basis they use, on which side of a component the heat is booked, and whether solution-pump work enters the COP. This page audits the calculation model of each component on those four points, placing the published treatments side by side — observation first, ranking later.
The audit starts from models that have actually been printed, with their equations, coefficients and stated assumptions, and checks what each numerical choice is worth in kJ/kg and in percent.
